P&O Liberte is not only the newest ferry operating in UK waters, she, along with her sister P&O Pioneer, are also the world's largest double ended hybrid fusion class ferries. Both vessels, along with the Spirit Class sisters Spirit of Britain and Spirit of France operate across the English Channel for P&O Ferries between Dover and Calais. Being double-ended means P&O Liberte and P&O Pioneer do not have to turn within the confines of the port to allow vehicles to drive off saving their passengers a considerable amount of time, as you can see from my video. Commercial vehicles park on the lower decks whilst tourist cars have their own dedicated deck (Deck 7), one deck below the passenger facilities meaning there is only a short walk to the amenities, though elevators are available. Passenger amenities are located on Deck 8 and 9. Deck 8 offers a lounge/bar/coffee shop at the Calais end, amidships one will find a full width dining room with massive curved walls of glass spanning two decks, followed by a World Duty Free superstore with around 15k different products! On Deck 9 one will find the Pet Lounge at the Calais end, Commercial Drivers dining room and lounge, passenger fast food outlet, two quiet lounges and the magnificent Club Class Lounge. An extensive amount of exterior deck space encompassing the passenger facilities can be found on both decks. My vlog aims to depict the excellent facilities found aboard STENA VISION, a large ferry operating for @Stenaline between Rosslare Europort in southeast Ireland and Cherbourg in the Normandy region of France. Cabin accommodation is available though not mandatory during this 16hr voyage. Passenger amenities are located on decks 7, 8 & 9 though mostly found on the later. Passenger lifts are available for those in a wheelchair or have walking difficulties. Onboard one will find a reception which is open 24/7, a shop, dining rooms, bars, excellent children's playrooms, a vast amount of exterior deck space, nightclub and even a Nordic Spa with two jacuzzis and two saunas. Travelling from Portsmouth to St.Malo (Brittany, France) aboard Brittany Ferries PONT AVEN, the vessel was so awe-inspiring I simply had to make a vlog - my first TV presenting attempt. Pont Aven has cruise-class facilities including balcony suites, a jaw dropping four deck high atrium with glass elevators, a split level bar, shopping centre, a range of dining options and even a swimming pool! Why would you want to fly and be confined to a seat in cramped conditions?! Normally operating the Plymouth UK to Roscoff France route, during the winter months Pont Aven operates to St Malo - a beautiful historic walled city encircling a maze of narrow streets filled with restaurants, bars and boutique shops - a long weekend break is truly like being on vacation. In early 2024 the DFDS ferries operating between Newhaven (UK) and Dieppe (France) underwent a mamouth internal refit which transformed their passenger facilities. A2B via Sea went aboard to take a look. Easily accessible by both road and rail, Newhaven is a stress free port to reach. The check-in was relaxed plus, should you arrive early, there is comfortable seating, a children's play area, WC & vending machines plus a tourist information area. Foot passengers are transferred to the ship by a courtesy bus. Onboard one will find a self service restaurant, numerous lounges including several with reclining seats with USB charging points, a children's playroom, extensive exterior decks plus a truly impressive shopping centre. A2B via Sea undertook a short break with Stena Line from Harwich in the Essex region of the UK to the Hoek van Holland in the Netherlands. The UK port has a railway station within the ferry terminal giving extremely easy access to London Liverpool Street Station if you are travelling as a foot passenger. The Dutch port has a railway station across the road, two minutes away, allowing easy access to the rest of Holland. The two Stena Line ferries on the route, Stena Hollandica and Stena Britannia, underwent a mamouth internal refit completely transforming their passenger facilities. On board one will find the Riviera Bar, Taste Restaurant, Family hub with children's movies, a giant screen PlayStation and play area, luggage storage room, shopping centre, Barista Coffee Bar & Lounge, extensive exterior decks with its own bar (summer months), a range of cabin accommodation and the jewel in the crown, Stena Plus. Irish Ferries W.B.Yeats is a large, modern ferry built for the Dublin Ireland to Cherbourg France route. She has a cool, contemporary and sophisticated decor with her passenger amenities located on Decks 10 and 11. Deck 10 comprises of a reclining seat lounge, Café LaFayette which is open 24/7 and serves beverages, light snacks, pizzas and hot dogs, a cinema, Boylan's Brasserie, reception, the formal dining room Lady Gregory, access to the split level commercial drivers restaurant and the Innisfree Club Class Lounge - a premium lounge accessed at an additional cost, but (good) WiFi, snacks, soft drinks and hot beverages are included. Deck 11 is home to the shop (primarily accessed from Deck 10 below), the upper level of the commercial drivers restaurant and Maud Gonne bar with live entertainment. This vlog produced by A2B via Sea takes the viewer aboard Blue Star Ferries vessel BLUE STAR DELOS on a voyage from Piraeus to Naxos via Paros. A large vessel with a great range of onboard facilities, passengers can enjoy a selection of lounges and catering facilities during the voyage. Why fly when you can have a mini cruise - you are on holiday!
